{"id":91031,"date":"1999-12-31T00:54:00","date_gmt":"1999-12-30T13:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/smartoffice.com.au\/telstra-dealing-with-another-outage\/"},"modified":"1999-12-31T00:54:00","modified_gmt":"1999-12-30T13:54:00","slug":"telstra-dealing-with-another-outage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.strixdevelopment.net\/smartoffice\/1999\/12\/31\/telstra-dealing-with-another-outage\/","title":{"rendered":"Telstra Dealing With Another Outage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Telstra is dealing with another network outage, a day after CEO Andrew Penn advised that the telco would invest $250 million in its network.<font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">Customers are taking to Twitter, with the issue apparently impacting business and enterprise customers in Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>Telstra has advised via a tweet that it is working to fix the issue.<\/p>\n<p>It is the latest of a number of outages suffered by the telco this year, amid a familiar pattern of disgruntled customers taking to Twitter to vent their displeasure.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">We&#8217;re working to fix an issue affecting some business and enterprise services in Victoria. Home broadband and mobile are unaffected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Telstra (@Telstra) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Telstra\/status\/748388392988213249\">June 30, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>Penn <a href=\"http:\/\/www.channelnews.com.au\/following-outages-telstra-set-to-invest-250-m-in-network\/\">yesterday advised<\/a> that Telstra had &#8220;recently completed an end-to-end review&#8221; of its &#8220;core network and IT systems, pinpointing sources of potential risk&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a result of this work, we will be investing $250 million from our existing capital program, within our 15 per cent capex-to-sales ratio, over the next six-to-12 months to provide a higher degree of network resilience and improved network performance,&#8221; he wrote via a <a href=\"http:\/\/exchange.telstra.com.au\/2016\/06\/29\/improving-network-performance\/\">blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Telstra has suffered a backlash from users via social media following its network outages this year.<\/p>\n<p>The telco has held two free data days following outages, the most recent of which was at the beginning of April.<\/font><iframe style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden; display: none; width: 0px; height: 0px; padding: 0px; border: medium none;\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allowtransparency=\"true\" scrolling=\"no\" id=\"rufous-sandbox\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden; display: none; width: 0px; height: 0px; padding: 0px; border: medium none;\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allowtransparency=\"true\" scrolling=\"no\" id=\"rufous-sandbox\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Telstra is dealing with another network outage, a day after CEO Andrew Penn advised that the telco would invest $250 million in its network.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":64,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"gallery","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[28,25],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-91031","post","type-post","status-publish","format-gallery","hentry","category-archive","category-services","post_format-post-format-gallery"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
