font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Despite the legal action being taken in Australia LG<\/p>\n<p>Australia did not issued any press releases despite the Company being known for<\/p>\n<p>issuing press releases for the most frivolous of promotions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">Instead it was left to LG Korean to confirm that British<\/p>\n<p>Company is being sued in Australia.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">LG said that that had resorted to legal action and issued a<\/p>\n<p>lawsuit against British manufacturer Dyson over an advertisement in Australia<\/p>\n<p>claiming that its vacuum cleaners perform better than those made by the South<\/p>\n<p>Korean maker.<\/p>\n<table style=\"\" align=\"Right\" border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"4\" cellspacing=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"300\" height=\"300\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" src=\"http:\/\/news.smarthouse.com.au\/resources\/articleimages\/99za84wm_embeded_image_1.jpg\" border=\"0\"><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">In the advertisement Dyson said its V6 cleaner is &#8220;the most<\/p>\n<p>powerful cordless vacuum&#8221; and boasts &#8220;twice the suction power of all cordless<\/p>\n<p>vacuums.&#8221;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">&nbsp; LG claimed that such<\/p>\n<p>remarks can mislead consumers and decided to ask Australia&#8217;s federal court to<\/p>\n<p>ban the advertisement.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">The South Korean firm said the Cord Zero Cyking&#8217;s suction<\/p>\n<p>power is twice as strong as Dyson&#8217;s V6 product.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">The LG&#8217;s flagship cordless cleaner reached the Australian<\/p>\n<p>market in September.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">Samsung Electronics LG&#8217;s larger rival, also engaged in a<\/p>\n<p>legal battle with the British player last year.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">In February 2014, Samsung filed a lawsuit seeking 10 billion<\/p>\n<p>won (US$8.84 million) in compensation from the British manufacturer in a patent<\/p>\n<p>row over a vacuum cleaner mechanism.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">Samsung&#8217;s suit was a counteraction against Dyson, which<\/p>\n<p>earlier had accused the South Korean company of violating its patents on the<\/p>\n<p>mechanism used in its vacuum cleaners.<\/font><o_p><\/o_p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">The action was filed in the Federal Court on the 12th of October 2015, two affidavit&#8217;s were filed on the 13th of October and the 23rd of October.&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">This is not the first time that LG and Dyson have ended up in the Federal Court, back in 2001 it was Dyson taking action against LG.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><br \/><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\" style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">After this story was posted &nbsp;<\/font><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">An LG spokesman said:<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">&#8220;LG Australia has initiated proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against Dyson to restrain Dyson from making certain claims in relation to its V6 Cordless Vacuum.&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><br \/><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">&#8220;LG Australia alleges that Dyson&#8217;s advertisements claiming that the Dyson V6 cordless vacuums are the &#8220;the most powerful cordless vacuums&#8221; and that those cleaners have &#8220;twice the suction power of any cordless vacuum&#8221; are misleading on the basis that the LG CordZero cordless canister vacuum is in fact more powerful and has more suction power than the Dyson V6 cordless vacuum. &nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><br \/><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">&#8220;The matter is currently being considered by the Court, and as such, LG is not in a position to make further comment.&#8221;<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">Dyson responded claiming:<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">&#8220;Dyson is updating our advertising message to reflect the fact that the Dyson V6 is the most powerful cordless stick vacuum.
