Foxtel has just announced free 24\/7 Olympics 2012 coverage to all sports subscribers, “the most extensive coverage of an Olympic Games ever seen”, with a 1100 hours of sports over 18 days. <\/p>\n

And all in High Definition TV. But it’s not just mainstream sports like swimming, athletics and running that will be at play. Foxtel are to broadcast all niche sports like archery and javelin. <\/p>\n

“Any sport you wan’t you will see it all,” declared Foxtel CEO, Richard Freudenstein, from the offical opening of the Games on July 27. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Foxtel Sports subscribers can watch every single gold medal event live and in full – all 302 of them. <\/p>\n

But its not just TVs that you can get Foxtel’s London Games coverage on. Tablets including the iPad and Android are also part of the Foxtel play, so you can see Stephanie Rice, Kate and Bronte Campbell and Co progress no matter where you are over wireless and 3G. <\/p>\n

Speaking at the 2012 ASTRA Pay TV Conference in Sydney yesterday, Freudenstein said he was “delighted” to announce the Olympic Games at no extra charge to every Foxtel residential sports subscriber.<\/p>\n

“We will produce the best coverage of the Olympic Games in our country’s broadcast history. We are making it available across eight High Definition and Standard Definition digital channels.<\/p>\n

“Foxtel’s commitment to this groundbreaking coverage of London 2012 is a great example of how we are continuing to innovate and add value for our consumers,” he added.  <\/p>\n

The London  2012 Olympic Games will showcase 16,000 of the world’s best athletes from over 200 countries and Foxtel’s broadcast will be hosted and presented live from two studios inside London’s Olympic Park. <\/p>\n

Full broadcast plans, host and commentary teams on Foxtel 8 Olympic channels will be announced on April 18, 100 days before London 2012 gets into full swing.<\/p>\n
