Google’s Streaming Nexus Q Sells Out In 24 Hours

Google’s Nexus Q is shaping up to be a real contender to Apple TV.

Although on sale for just 24 hours, Google’s Nexus Q has already sold out. According to PCMag, customers flocking to Google’s Play store will notice the $299 product has a shipping period of 2-3 weeks.

The Nexus Q complements Android smartphones and tablets by streaming content from Google’s Play and YouTube to screens and speakers around the house. In built is a 24W amp along with connections for an AV receiver or a HDTV.

The 4.6 inch orb runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, is powered by a dual core Cortex A9 CPU, has 1GB of RAM, 16GB of NAND flash memory and a SGX540 graphics core.

Abundant in connectivity, the Q comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Near Fields Communications (NFC), and will connect to devices via Micro HDMI, Micro AB USB and Ethernet.

At present, the Nexus Q is only available in the US. Google has yet to confirm if and when it will be making its debut down under.
