The new printer range includes the two consumer-targeted Photosmart and two Deskjet models as well as two SoHo-targeted Deskjet Single Function Printers (D2460 and D4260).

HP says that the new Photosmart C4280 and C5280 All-in-One printers are able to copy, scan and produce true-to-life photos and laser-quality documents. The printers also have new product features that allow easy web printing, as well as the ability to print directly onto CDs and DVDs with personal photos and text. These new printers also have the new HP Photosmart Essential software, an editing tool that promises to bring new life to old photos and create photo projects, such as brochures and collages. Users can also simplify the process of printing by simply inserting a memory card and view images on a 2.4-inch (or 1.5 inch for the C4280) preview display.

Printing and copying speeds of up to 32 pages per minute for black, 24 ppm for colour and 27 seconds for 4″ x 6″ photos, are also present for the HP Photosmart C4280 and C5280, the company claims.

The HP Deskjets F2180 and F4185 All-in-Ones are designed for low cost, everyday home use with printing, scanning and copying capabilities. Offering fast and efficient, high quality document printing with up to 20 ppm in black and up to 14 ppm in colour, the company says.

HP’s Deskjet single function D2460 and D4260 printers and F2180 and F4185 All-in-Ones, feature HP Smart Web Printing which enables complete web page printing without the fuss. Users can also save paper and ink with a new on-screen print cancel button. With a variety of printing and copying size options, including bordered and borderless photos, the new HP Deskjet range provide a user-friendly and inexpensive printing solution for home and SoHo users.

HP has also launched the ‘HP Imagination Centre’ (www.hp.com.au/imagination), a free online site that provides activities for children, with regular competitions and prizes. Activities include taking a virtual adventure and playing the hero in an online story, creating games to play at home (like a treasure hunt) and making crafts (butterfly origami).

HP South Pacific’s Market Development Manager for Personal Printing, Tim Staniland said, “By introducing innovative new product features to HP’s current imaging and printing portfolio, HP continues to provide customers with flexible, high-quality, ultra-compact home printing solutions. As an added bonus, HP’s new product range is designed to integrate HP’s free online Imagination Centre offering parents a way to encourage and reward creativity and imaginative thinking for the entire family.”
