Pearl PR Leaves NEC For New Project

NEC has parted ways with its PR agency of almost two years, Pearl PR, pending a new ‘major’ account for the PR agency, while NEC is now searching for a new PR company to take its place.NEC Computers and NEC Home Electronics Australia are currently looking after the company’s PR in-house, with marketing manager Michelle Hancox bearing most of the brunt.

“I hope we will find a new PR agency soon – I hope we’re not going to keep it internal,” said Hancox, who is currently juggling her role as marketing manager for NEC’s commercial division with the company’s PR responsibilities.

Hancox said NEC is interested in recruiting a new PR agency, and has received interest from “a couple of companies” so far.

The group used PR agency 2iC before Pearl PR.

In the new year NEC Home Electronics Australia will launch a new range of full-HD LCD TVs, along with a new 32-inch plasma and a new range of commercial displays for the digital signage market.

Pearl PR will be announcing a new account in the coming months, which it claims is more in tune with the company’s online, business focus.
