Grays Auction $1M Retravision Stock At $9 A-Pop

Grays Online is flooding the market with $1 million worth of cheap electronic goods from several recently collapsed Retravision Stores – everything from cameras and ovens to notebooks and TVs.
The online auction just announced is starting at just $9 a-go and GraysOnline spokesperson, Therese Tarlington, is flagging the sale as one for both trade and consumers alike.

The stock which numbers 8000 items, including Electrolux dryers, Samsung microwaves and Kobo tablets, is from three Retravision Southern stores that went into administration in May and is to be sold by Grays under instruction from accountants Rodgers Reidy.

“This is an opportunity for trade buyers to secure some leading brands at discounted prices and since all the items are starting at $9; a chance for savvy home owners to upgrade their white goods, home entertainment or IT equipment,” Tarlington said in a statement.

However, the CEO of Betta Electrical, Graeme Cunningham, insists the cut-price sale will have “no real impact on anyone, mainly because of quantities…approx $1m in value which in the scheme of things is minimal.”

The items are “related to clearing stock from a few stores that are closing” he told ChannelNews.

Still, some struggling members from the trade sector may well take up on the cheap goods.

The auction kicks off tomorrow August 03 with 100-150 items to be flogged daily over a two week sale period.

The goods will be sold will be sold in a series of online auctions – delivery and some pick up depending on the size of the items.
